Fashion photography has a long and rich history and it’s not just about capturing models on a camera - since the first half of 20 century fashion photography has become an outstanding form of art. In this post we would like to remember some fashion photography names of all times. Some of them have passed away, while others continue to push the borders of modern photography. At the same time we’ll take a look at the websites of famous fashion photographers to see how the industry movers and shakers approach the online presentation of their portfolios.
The name of Richard Avedon (May 15, 1923 – September 30, 2004) has a special place in the history of modern art and photography. His portrait and fashion photographs were trend-setting throughout the last half of 20 century and inspired hundreds of modern creatives. Albert Watson (born 1942) is a photographer well known for his fashion, celebrity and art photography, and whose work is featured in galleries and museums worldwide. His dark colored website has a polished and sleek look.

As you might notice, all websites featured in our today’s collection are done under the minimalist design guidelines. The main reason for this, in our opinion, is that photographs of world-renowned photography masters don’t need any additional framing and visual cues - they are actually the best part of the photo website design.
